My Travel Story
Born to German immigrants, I grew up in Kingston, Ontario immersed in German culture, visiting Europe once or twice a year until at 9 I was able to fly there on my own. It was therefore no surprise that I took a year off between high school and university to work and travel through Europe. This created a wanderlust in me that continued to grow until being in the same country for more than a few months drove me crazy.
I chose to live in Cozumel, Mexico after I finished my graduate studies in Behavioural Neuroendocrinology to be close to the water. I taught scuba diving for many years and became a business consultant to many of the dive shops on the island. 1 Year turned into 18 as I lived the life most can only dream of on this beautiful and peaceful tropical island in the Caribbean. To this day, I still have a Reggae Beach Bar and Restaurant in Cozumel which I administer from Canada and visit 4-5 times per year.
When my son was born in 2003, I tried to stay closer to home but soon realized the urge to travel was so strong I couldn’t give it up so I just packed him up and took him with me. At 9 years old, he’d already visited 24 countries and become my favourite travelling companion.
In 2009, I returned to Kingston to care for my mother. In looking for a job that I could do from home, becoming a travel agent just seemed the obvious choice. With 3 passports, 3 languages and 40+ years of travelling experience in over 70 countries, planning vacations, designing custom tours and helping people get the most out of their travel experiences was the next logical next step in my life. I now approach each client’s vacation as if it were my own, researching the smallest of details with the passion I have for exploring exciting new destinations and the attention to detail that I feel my clients deserve.
